James Halliday’s 2012 edition of the “Australian Wine Companion” rates Oakway Estate 4 stars - A very good producer of wines with class and character! That puts us in the top 10.3% of wineries he reviewed (8,386 in total across Australia).

We received scores in excess of 90 gaining us 4 and half wine glasses and a star value. He writes:

Sauvignon Blanc 2010 – pale quartz; the bouquet is fragrant and flowery, but doesn’t signal the impressive power of the palate that follows with its succulent array of citrus and tropical fruits. Rating 93.

Barrel Select Chardonnay 2009 – bright straw-green; barrel fermentation has enhanced (not diminished) the fragrant, very well balanced varietal fruit expression of white-flesh peach and apple, balanced acidity drawing out the finish. Rating 93.

Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2010 – pale quartz; has intense aromas and flavours ranging from ripe citrus through to gentle tropical fruit; very good mouth feel and length. Rating 91.
